Lets help kill Cancer - Cutter - 09-27-2012

This has become very important to me of late.

Not just because my own mother is a breast cancer survivor, right now my father is in a fight with lung cancer, and it's getting worse.

Sept of last year we found out he had Stage 3 lung cancer. He did the chemo and radiation. In Aug a cat-scan seemed to show he was clear. Well the little fucker came back and broght a freind and dropped it in his liver. It's not looking good.

Now how can we help kill cancer in general?

http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ has a setup similar to what SETI does, gives out data packets for your home computer to run through when you are not useing it, and send the results back.

They have a project called Help Conqure Cancer. If you sign up for the project in this way you can take a stand and do something direct.

Everyone of us has had someone affected by some form of cancer.

I have taken on the project. It may be too late for my father, but it's not for someone elses.

Hash Oil works, cutter. Tommy Chong (actor, comedian of Cheech and Chong fame) had inoperable cancer and was told he was going to die. He started EATING 1 gram of hash oil per day and is now 99% cancer free. There are other remedies too. Someone shared a link from a Canadian TV nightly news show that showed a drug that has been proven to cure cancer., Search youtube for it.

The main thing with both of these cures? No money in it for the big pharmaceutical companies, so they're not interested in getting it out there.

Look up Tommy Chong's story on line and that news story. Wait,. let me check for a link. Found it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1ifXxbxhZc

I know what cancer is like. I had pancreatic cancer in 2000. I hope I never get cancer again. Breast cancer would be the worst for me.

Yeah the chemo and radiation really was hard on me. I see the positive in it. I survived. Smile That is not why I like the color "PINK". I always liked the color "PINK".

Wow...I had no idea about that Lisa...you're a survivor...and now I have anoher excuse to admire you :O

Fights over. Dec 2, 1:50 pm, My Father checked out.

He got full Military Honors at his funeral.

The fight goes on, if you have not signed up for the Conqure Cancer project I ask that you do.

Sorry for your loss Cutter. I will make a donation, before the year is up.

RE: Lets help kill Cancer - Cutter - 12-17-2012

It's not a donation thing with the Conqure Cancer project. You let your computer do caculations for the eggheads when you are not useing your computer.

RE: Lets help kill Cancer - JustSomeone - 12-17-2012

Well I'm going to make a donation nonetheless. I will look into the computer program.

I got a bit of information from World Community Grid.

One of the projects I was in helped ID 7 new drugs for use in fighting childhood cancers.

They have started a new project to help ID specific cancer markers for more directed treatments.

You can bet your ass I'm on that one.

I'm part of a startup, in the bioinformatics space. This stuff seriously interests me. When they look for markers, are they rolling over the entire genome, or just a small portion? I imagine with distributed computing like this, it'd be nothing to process an entire genome.

I have no idea what they are looking for or how, the project page may have that information.

I'm just running computations.

Yeah, I went to the About page and poured over their text. Unfortunately, it's lacking on the technical side, chock full of marketing speak though.

Anything involving genetics fascinates me because of the implications for longevity, perfect health, disease eradication and well... bigger boobs through gene therapy!!
