How do you rent movies? Roku is great

How do you guys rent movies?

I recently bought this Roku gadget. It is amazing! I'm not trying to be spam or a commercial for Roku, but it is a great way to stream movies.

The Roku is a little tiny box that streams movies from Netflix or other companies like Amazon or Hulu or whatever. You just buy a Netflix account for $10 a month and you can stream unlimited movies through the Roku device.

I used to cave into the expensive temptation of buying movies on Demand, and that is Super expensive, especially compared to Roku. One movie On Demand is like $5.99. So if you watch a movie every other night, you would save over $60 a month.

Do you guys do the Netflix in the mail thing or perhaps the Red Box thing?

Also, I wanted to throw in that the Roku has some amazing movies available like the ESPN "30 for 30" series of movies. And many other rare movies.

I have Apple TV set up with the home entertainment system, and I download a fair bit... both legally, and er...umm... sometimes I get torrents for files to practice my critic skills.

Netflix for online only. Redbox once in a blue moon. And a local book store for great foreign movies like Joyuoex Noel and Dead Snow. I love foreign movies. Norway, Japan, France, Korea... such great movies from those countries.

WDTV is better than Roku. It has better support for local files. Does anyone know of a set top version to XBMC? That'd be the best setup.

I am with IronBeard I have Netflix for streaming of movies (new stuff is usually added every wednesday) but I do not use the Red Box thingy, I have a local chain of video stores in my state called Family Video I usually rent what I cannot get from Netflix from there as well as my game rentals.

well be careful they have 3 options streaming, DVD by mail (blu ray as well but they cost more per month than the DVD), and streaming and DVD/Blu together. the streaming is 7.99 (no tax) I think the one disc at a time for DVD is same price but the streaming and DVD is like 16 a month. When I first got Netflix back in 08 I had the one disc at a time and the streaming was free but a year or so ago they decided to charge for it and I did not see paying the 16 a month so I dropped the disc by mail and kept the streaming. Oh you can set it up to have up to 3 DVD instead of just one but again it costs more per month, but the turn around is pretty fast I got a movie on a monday, watched it sent it out in the mail the next day they got it at their center (they have em all over the country) on like wed, sent out my next disc in my queue that day and I had it before the end of the week.

EDIT the Xbox 360 is the ONLY device that you have to pay a monthly or yearly 'Gold' fee for online in order to use Netflix, but the other consoles that access it PS3 and Wii/WiiU do not as well as tablets, smart phones, laptops, PC etc.
