I bought myself a new (well new to me) car, a 2007 Ford Mustang coupe, with every option but leather and sunroof with only 30,000 on the clock.

some tidbits, it IS a V6 'base model' but the previous owner swapped out the front fascia/grill with the one from the GT V8 car (base car does not have those lights in the grill, well that size anyway). It has power everything, 500 watt 8 speaker, 6 disc sound system, 17" alloy wheels (also from the GT V8 car), rear wing is the same one they put on the top of the line GT500KR (king of the road) Mustang.

here is a back shot of my baby, I eventually plan on replacing the 2 into 1 single exhaust with a true dual setup (similar to the GT car but made specifically for the V6 engine) and replacing the rear bumper cover with the one from the GT that has 2 round cut outs for the exhaust to poke out from under.

Oh hard to tell in the pics but the rims are not in mint condition, I was gonna replace them but my dad knows a guy who can strip them, and repaint them and clear coat them cheaper than replacing them with ones in better condition. I was gonna just replace them with a different style or aftermarket, but I have to say those retro looking rims really work on this body style of Mustang, so I am gonna do the refurbishment on them probably after the winter.

That looks like the alternator turned 90 degrees off. Is the serpentine belt in the front of the block, as opposed the passenger side?

I am not sure what you are asking about the belt Just, all serpentine belts are in the front of the block .

I've never driven a Mustang. All the cars I've driven typically have the serpentine and/or AC belts, and alternator on the side. It was just an observation.

Well the weekend sucked it rained every day so I did not have good enough weather to wash/wax it or do the oil change. Good thing I did not yet buy a filter or gasket and ATF fluid for the transmission, turns out the transmission in this car is sealed (I do not even have a dipstick for it). Thankfully I have connections in town that can do that particular service for me when it is due. Since the car only has 30,525 miles on it the tranny can be left alone for now. The ONLY thing I was able to do this weekend was program the replacement keyless entry remotes for my car (they were missing), eBay for the win! Also on an awesome note I was scouting around for deals on insurance for it, since the car is so new (well new enough) I decided I HAVE to get full coverage (all my last cars had liability only). My dad suggested his insurance company, so I drove over to see his agent, gave them the VIN number and told them I wanted the full coverage. They gave me a quote of 822 a year, and If I go with the electronic funds (they take it out of my bank account when it is due) I only will be paying under 70 a month, hell I was paying over 80 a month for liability on my current car via Progressive. Looks like I am changing carriers .

Most of the new "Sealed" transmissions are good for 100,000 miles +, some even as much as 150,000 before they need servicing and most use what they refer to as WS Fluid (World Standard) in these high mileage "sealed" transmissions..

Unless you suspect the car was driven hard in the first 30 something thousand miles, I'd leave it alone and refer to the suggested change mileage in the service manual. Some automobiles you even need a diagnostic unit plugged in to the ODBC port under your dash that senses the transmission temperature so that you top it off with the engine running at the exact temperature and no hotter or colder.

You fill the transmission, after a change, as full as you can cold with the engine off and then crank it. Then when the precise fluid temp is reached, you crawl back under and add more fluid until the point the fluid just starts overflowing fill plug. You put the plug back in, shift it from Park down through Drive and down to 1st gear and back through to park and then crawl BACK under and top it off one more time. Pain in the ass!

My Land Rover has a "Sealed" transmission and you fill it from underneath the truck (with the plug being just about 3" from the exhaust "Y" pipe - OUCH) with a hand pump and tube while the fluid is cold and the engine is running, until it overflows the side fill plug. You then pull the tube out and put the plug back in quick as hell to keep the dripping fluid from making a mess...And don't EVER forget and shut the engine off with the plug still out! (I speak from experience here!) as you will loose about 2 quarts of fluid onto the driveway! BIG MESS!

My wife's Toyota 4Runner requires you to put a dummy plug that has a few terminals shorted into the ODBC Port and when the transmission reaches the proper temp, it dings the chime in the car 2 times. You then pull the fill plug, engine running, and check the level and add if necessary. If the temp gets too high, it dings 3 times and you have to reinstall the plug and shut the engine off and wait for the fluid to cool down and start the process again (chime dings 1 time when its cooler than needed). Toyota recommends 120,000 MINIMUM on their 4Runner transmissions, and then only if you've done a lot of towing with it. Her's had 110,000 on it when I did hers and the fluid looked just like brand new. I should have left it alone for another 50,000 miles. Toyota's WS fluid is EXPENSIVE so you don't want to change it very often.

I found the Ford Service Schedule for your car. They list the Transmission service mileage as 60,000 for one transmission type and 120,000 for the other type available in this year mustang.

basically swapping the 2 into 1 setup and going 2 into 2 like the setup on the V8 powered Mustangs. I read with that and a CAI (cold air intake) which will replace the stock air box that goes from the intake manifold down to the box that holds the air filter, can add about 15-20 hp (up to 30 hp if I get a tune which is something I would do in the future).

Yes, a cold air intake will boost your HP (harry potter) a little. I had one on a Toyota Camry (don't judge me, it came that way). However, I'd imagine a scoop would be more effective in that regard.
