How long after post editing is now allowed?
#1
Has something in the forum configuration changed? Wanted to edit my last post, but this isn't possible anymore after 15 mins.

Post a link and ask a mod to do it.

For removing the word "early" I don't need to bother a moderator. Then be it.

I don't see how I just used my admin tools and I see no options that would limit a user's time for editing any posts.

So it is default forum software then?

No. It seems to be more individual. Another non moderator user was still able to edit after 45 mins yesterday. And it can't be that he started editing before the 15 min ended and saved after that. At least I couldn't do the same.

must be a glitch then, as I see no setting that lets a user have more or less edit time on an account. all non mods and admins should have the same edit time window, dunno how one user got more than the 15 min as there is no setting that I can see to change it. I may dig into more of the admin tools to see if there is something else that does it.

there is a way to change it but it would be across board and not sure how to change it as it has a number next to the setting and I THINK changing that number would lower or lengthen the edit time. when it comes to stuff like that I think it is best for me to leave it alone unless one of the other admins would like to alter that time limit, and or would know how to change it. I would hate to have to change it and mess it up so it would affect future edit times. I still cannot figure out how one user is able to go past the 15 minute window on his/her end tho.

This time limit isn't effective against moderators or administrators. Just regular users.

I now understand how this discrepancy happened.

When someone posts and after let's say 50 minutes posts again it merges the posts and does set a new "edit time".
